BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF NORTH GEORGIA
YOUTH OF THE MONTH FOR May 2018
THREE RIVERS CLUB, GILMER COUNTY
Mountain View Elementary – 4th Grade
Morgan joined the Club in the fall of 2014. During these years, he has made a positive impression on staff with his quiet participation in our programs, with an impish grin that flashes constantly. Morgan enjoys coming to the Club after school because, “it gives me a place to have fun.”
Morgan has many interests away from the Club and claims he enjoys going outside, playing video games and building forts. He spends a good bit of time constructing structures in our KINEX area!
When he graduates from Gilmer High, he plans to become “a business person for building forts.” This is an interesting career focus and may even be a great opportunity to have his own specialty tv show!
Mom, Wendy, has this to say about Morgan being part of our program: “Morgan loves to be active and interact with his peers. The Club offers many different activities and programs that help build social, personal and leadership skills. The Club offers a safe and positive environment for my sons (Ethan also attends) after school.”
Gilmer Middle School – 5th Grade
Adriana became a Club Kid during the summer of 2017 and has been an active part of our program since arriving on her first day. This young lady has a smile that assures you she is a friend to all she encounters. Adriana is always willing to help a staff person or befriend a new member, so her impression on our staff for selecting her for this honor was easy.
When asked about why she enjoys coming to the Club during the summer and after school, she shared that “it is fun and I love it because I have a lot of friends.”
Hobbies outside her Club activities include playing with animals, running and karate. At the Club you can always find her in art or the game room. A variety of interests keep her very busy, not to mention an excellent student!
Aspiring to be a veterinarian after high school means lots of studying. Her love for animals and school grades will make Adriana an excellent candidate for this career.
Parents, Sydney and Marcelo, have this to say about the Club: “Mrs. Jan and her staff are all really great people. We know that our child is taken care of while we are at work and there’s a lot of activities for the Kids to do and our daughter gets to see her friends.”
