Club & "Tyler's Helpers"
Being a parent means you worry. Being a parent of a special
needs child means you worry more. Heather Smith, mom of Tyler,
sent a special "thank you" to the BGCNG/West End Club
for the help and friendship they have provided her son, who is deaf.
A special group of
kids (they call themselves "Tyler's Helpers") have taken
it upon themselves to assign each other "sign names" and
continue to learn to communicate with him. "Tyler's
Helpers" will help Tyler enjoy the club activities all summer

Frequent Family Dinners Make a Difference
teenagers who use alcohol, tobacco and marijuana begin using them
between 12 and 14 years of age, with some of the highest risk kids
starting to use even earlier. Help keep your kids substance free
by being engaged in their lives, including eating dinner together
often. The more often you have dinner with your kids, the less
likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs.
